the pressurized gas held within will escape. Traditional methods
of sealing these systems involve a mechanical crimp, followed
by a brazing and then a cut process.
Ultrasonic
metal welding crimps, seals and cuts the tube, achieving in
one simple operation what used to be three separate, time consuming
tasks. The
appliance industry has embraced ultrasonic metal
welding as a way to seal refrigerant systems and produce a
hermetic seal.
